Nourish your skin this winter

Winter doesn’t have to mean dry, flaky skin or make you consider hibernation. Here’s how to nourish your skin during the cold months so you can flaunt it and feel fabulous!

Wear a mask

Face masks are great ways to instantly provide nutrients to the skin but you can make organic ones yourself without having to purchase them in the shop. This is a great eco-friendly idea for skin because you’re 100% sure of what you’re putting on your face and you don’t have to spend any money. Check out this link for a range of different face masks you can tailor to your skin’s needs.

Ditch the hot baths

Although it can be tempting to want to lie in a smouldering hot bath when it’s cold outside, this will have the effect of drying out your skin. It’s also not very eco-friendly, so choose to have a quick hot shower instead. Always lather on moisturiser immediately after stepping out of the shower so that you trap moisture in your skin and keep it smooth.

Top up on the good stuff

You might not feel very thirsty during the colder months, but it’s important to drink as much water as you can to stay hydrated. This will keep skin hydrated too and it boosts blood circulation. Also pay attention to eating the right foods in winter. Goodies to throw into your trolley during your next shopping trip include Vitamin-B rich foods such as papaya, citrus fruits and broccoli. These make skin more elastic and seal in moisture.
