Feeling Fruity!

Bursts of colour are big in make-up at the moment, but you don’t want to look like you’ve just been caught in a fruit fight.

Watch your tone!

Before you splash on the latest trendy colour, consider your skin tone. For instance, greens work on women with fair skin that also has pink undertones, while bright yellows work on darker skin tones. For a safe bet and if you’re unsure of what colour works on you, make teal your best friend. It blends green and blue into a shade that flatters all skin tones. Yellow can also work on lighter skins, but change the shade; instead of something bright, go for gold.

Shade shifters

Blush should match the natural flush of your skin, so bear this in mind when choosing a colour that will enhance your face instead of overpower it. Match your lips to the blush, but not completely. This is a great way to blend different shades. If your natural blush is pinkish, go for a pink or dark maroon on your lips; if your natural blush is more peach, a tangerine gloss can be fun and pretty. ZAO compact blush is organic and suitable for all types of complexions, including sensitive or acne-prone skin.

Upcycle what you’ve got

Instead of rushing out to buy brighter shades of make-up, use what you already have. For instance, if you regularly wear a brown shade of eye shadow you can still use it but team it up with a gold or white (white is so in again) splash in the corner of your eye for a more dazzling effect. It’s about brightening up your current look. Don’t be afraid to experiment a little.

Nail it

We used to be told to keep our fingernails a sober colour and use our toenails for a brighter, bolder colour fix. But that’s not the case anymore. And, when it comes to mixing and matching, your nail colour doesn’t necessarily have to match your lips or eyes. If you want to do something fun, match it up to an item of clothing or jewelry. For instance, if you’re wearing bright coral bangles or shoes, it can be fun to match your nails to that for a bloom of eye-catching colour. Try Suncoat nail polish that is environmentally friendly, quick drying and doesn’t have a strong or disturbing smell like conventional nail polish.
