Lose Weight with Foods That Kill Calories

lose weight with food

If you indulged over the festive season, losing weight might be on your list of New Year’s resolutions. But don’t think you need to go on an extreme diet in order to peel off the pounds. You just have to eat the right things. Here are some fat-burning super foods.

Tuna

We always hear about the health benefits of omega-3 acids, but did you know they can also contribute to weight loss? According to Livestrong that cites a study in the International Journal of Obesity, omega-3 fatty acids stimulate fat oxidation or breakdown. Tuna is a great choice of omega-3s because it’s nutritious yet low in calories. When choosing eco-friendly tuna, make sure it’s pole caught. Juicy Fruits and Vegetables

You know that water is vital to help you lose weight, right? Well, maximise on this by topping up on fruits and vegetables that are packed with water. Fruits and vegetables that contain a lot of water include watermelon, oranges, broccoli and cauliflower.

Oats

Start your day with healthy oats, a nutritious and filling meal that will help keep your weight-loss on the right track. Choose steel-cut or rolled oats because these have up to five grams of fiber per serving, which will make you feel fuller for longer, thus preventing those snack attacks during the day.

Lentils

Lentils are a fat-loss super food because they prevent insulin spikes that can cause excess fat to be stored in areas of the body such as the abdomen. They’re also a great alternative to eating meat as they are satisfying and high in protein.

Low-fat Dairy

Studies conducted by the University of Tennessee found that a diet low in calcium is bad for weight loss because it actually causes fat to remain in your body. So make sure you top up on calcium as it makes the body heat up slightly, causing it to burn fat. Choose the low-fat dairy variety that will give you calcium without unnecessary calories.
