Tell us a bit more about your “LIVING ROOM OBJECT”. What inspired you?

My living room object is inspired by my love for sushi and the draw in my kitchen full of unused chopsticks from various sushi takeout’s.

If you had to match a song to your object, what would it be and why?

I would choose to play the didgeridoo as it inspires me and gives off a relaxed calm environment much like my living room object.

What challenges have you experienced by adhering to the competition principles of using sustainable design techniques?

It was challenging to ensure that there was a big enough supply of materials to make an object and to be sure of easy accessibility.

What does sustainable design mean to you?

Sustainable design is reusing materials today, to ensure that there are materials for future generations.

I can’t start my day without…

A warm cup of green tea.

You are currently obsessed with?

Lumen copper lamps and terrariums.

3 things we don’t know about you…

I have an obsession for brown leather bags.
I secretly want to be a dolphin whisperer.
I love chicken nuggets.

What’s on your horizon?

To hopefully graduate and one day founder an international sustainable pop up design store.

What is your most treasured piece in your home?

My DIY swing in my bedroom.

Top tip when it comes to sustainable design….

Keep it simple and think practically.

The Remake Design Challenge is proudly brought to you by Pick n Pay.
